Who we are

The Colorado Doula Project was founded in 2015 as a grassroots, nonprofit, volunteer-based collective of abortion doulas and reproductive justice advocates.

Today, as we navigate the tumultuous waters of a post-Roe nation, Colorado exists as a port in the storm: a safe haven for its own residents and for those brave travelers escaping restrictions in their own states to access necessary healthcare, at any point in pregnancy.

This is where the Colorado Doula Project comes in.

We are proud to offer procedure funding, travel support, rides, and free emotional support via our cohort of trained volunteer Abortion Doulas for anyone having an abortion in Colorado.

We are a local and national organization, serving both Colorado residents and people traveling to Colorado from anywhere in the world for an abortion at any point in pregnancy.

Our Vision

We envision a world where all people have the information, resources, and power to make informed decisions about their bodies and lives, where the ability to make decisions about parenting and reproductive health is regarded as a deeply personal human right.

Our Mission

In a society that continuously threatens people’s autonomy, we provide vital advocacy, compassionate education, and nonjudgmental support to protect the bodily sovereignty of all people. Together we envision and work towards a world where reproductive justice is not only a given but a right for all individuals and families, regardless of sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, class, and background.

We provide and increase access to nonjudgmental, compassionate, and empowering doula support for individuals across the full spectrum of their reproductive experiences, with a specific focus on abortion.
