What your donation provides:
$25: a post-abortion care basket with items like nausea supplies, pads, and toiletries for clients who are traveling for their abortion
$120: a year’s worth of shipping costs for reproductive resources like condoms and emergency contraception, all free to our clients
$350: medication and supplies for two self-managed abortions,
at home or in another safe place chosen by our clients
$600: one month of fuel costs for our volunteer abortion doula drivers (to and from airports, hotels & clinics)
$1,200: Air travel and hotel costs for two clients fleeing their home state for an abortion in Colorado
$2,000: fees associated with one abortion procedure performed in a clinic
Why procedure funds matter:
The most significant factor in a client’s
ability to access an abortion procedure is
funding.
Procedure funding is the vital first step to protecting and expanding abortion access. If a client can’t afford their procedure, all the practical resources in the world can’t help them.
Even if someone knows they want an abortion early in pregnancy, by the time they have the funds, they may find themselves farther along and paying much more than anticipated. Just a few weeks’ delay can mean hundreds of extra dollars in procedure costs.
This is why CDP is committed not only to providing travel costs, transportation, and food for our clients, but to ensuring every abortion is funded in full.
